JORDAN EXPORTS Arranges “The Green Trade” Workshop to Adopt Green Trade Practices
Tuesday 12/5/2024, JORDAN EXPORTS implemented a workshop on green trade, with the aim of integrating green trade practices into the commercial operations and business strategies of Jordanian institutions for the food and export sectors in Jordan, considering green trade today is one of new trendy practices for economic growth, besides its role in achieving sustainable health.
The workshop included three main topics: the green trade definition and the possibility of implementing it in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, green trade standards and certification, and sustainable food packaging. It also included discussion sessions between the attendees, who were experienced people, technicians, and workers in the food sector. They exchange experiences and their views related to this field, and to try to create new ways of cooperation among them that would move them forward.
In his opening speech for the workshop, the CEO of the JORDAN EXPORTS, Engineer Omar Al-Qaryouti, stressed the importance of green trade and its role in opening new horizons for Jordanian exporters and traders outside the Kingdom, indicating that this type of trade has today become a major part of the requirements of global markets.
He also stressed that the Jordan Export Platform (JEP) is an important online portal to enrich (potential) exporters with valuable information about trade and export.
This workshop was made possible in cooperation with the Trade for Employment (T4E) project, implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
