A Workshop to Empowering Jordanian Food Industries: Penetrating the American Market

The Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI), in partnership with JORDAN EXPORTS (JE), organized a workshop aimed at bolstering the presence of Jordanian food industries in the American market, particularly within Walmart stores, renowned as the largest hypermarket chains in the United States.

With participation from 40 companies in the food industries sector, the workshop focused on elucidating the essential foundations, requirements, and conditions for factories aspiring to enter Walmart markets, emphasizing the significance of this strategic endeavor in leveraging the benefits of the free trade agreement between Jordan and the United States. Key figures such as Vice President of JCI, Mohammed Walid Al-Jayitan, expressed gratitude towards King Abdullah II for his consistent support for Jordanian industries, highlighting the economic reform vision’s prioritization of the industrial sector as fundamental to national development.

The workshop served as an inaugural step in equipping Jordanian companies within the food industries sector with the necessary insights to navigate and access Walmart markets, underlining the immense export potential within the American market valued up to $70 million for food products. Participants, including representatives from the Jordan Chamber of Industry and Amman, emphasized the imperative of concerted efforts among industrialists, the chamber, and Jordan Export House to seize the opportunity for expanded market presence in the United States. Such collaboration is poised to foster the establishment of new production lines, create job opportunities, and attract further investments to fortify the resilience and growth of Jordan’s food and supply industries sector in the global market landscape.
