Strengthening Jordanian Exports: Collaboration with German Experts for European Market Access

In efforts to increase Jordanian exports of food products and fresh agricultural produce to the European markets, JORDAN EXPORTS (JE) in collaboration with the Business and Professional Women’s Association (BPWA) hosted German experts through Sequa gGmbH, an international non-profit organization.

The experts visited to Jordan to conduct spot-check visits and verify the eligibility of a several pre-assessed small and medium-sized Jordanian enterprises (SMEs) and ensure their alignment with the approved criteria list selected for this purpose, as part of an initiative organized and implemented by JE and BPWA.

This initiative aims to network SMEs with specialized European buyers in two sectors: the fresh fruit and vegetables sector and the natural ingredients sector. It also seeks to qualify national companies and enhance their standards to meet the European requirements and standards that facilitate the entry of their products into these markets.

This visit marks a crucial step towards qualifying for the next phase, which will provide opportunities for participation in specialized training and activities and benefitting from participation in European trade fairs, in addition to that part of SMEs will receive an inbound mission soon.

This initiative was made possible in cooperation with the Trade for Employment (T4E) project, implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply.
