JORDAN EXPORTS organized a focus group discussion (FGD) on Dec 21, 2023, at the Association of Banks in Jordan, entitled “Sea Transport and Logistics from Jordan”. The FGD was implemented in cooperation with the Jordan Customs, Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC), and Aqaba Container Company Terminal (ACT), in the presence of a number of Jordanian exporters and industrialists from different economic sectors.
This session comes as a continuation of the series of sessions organized by JORDAN EXPORTS, which aims to increase Jordan’s exports and raise the level of awareness in this field among (potential) exporters in Jordan, since sea transport is a vital mode of transportation for Jordan, and Aqaba -in specific- plays a pivotal role in leveraging Jordanian economy.
The FGD aimed to identify the most important services related to sea transport operations of import and export, search for new and possible opportunities, and discuss export challenges. The FGD also presented practical solutions offered by Jordan Customs, such as developing e-export procedures. The session also discussed a set of practices related to shipping and export services offered by JE, ADC, and ACT.
It is noteworthy that this focus group discussion was organized with the support of the USAID Economic Reform Activity
